Affiliate Program
Westerner Speed Timers is happy to offer our affiliate program to shooting, equestrian and other websites that think their visitors would have an interest in our products. By advertising our timers on your site you can earn a 5% commission when a visitor on your site clicks on that link and purchases a timer from us.
How does the Affiliate Program work?
It's pretty simple. You just go to the Join Now page and fill out the form with some information on you and your website. Once you're signed up you then go to the "Get Links" page to get a link or banners to display on your site that will direct people to the Westerner Speed Timer site. If a visitor comes to our site through one of the links or banners on your site, then buys a timer, you will earn a 5% commission on that sale.
Our affiliate program is independently managed by Mal's e-commerce, the site we use to handle the orders our customers place. After you've set up the links on your site you can go to your Administration Area to track the clicks from your site, plus the sales and commissions you've earned.
How much commission can I earn?
The commission on all sales is 5% of the price of the timer and accessories, excluding shipping and handling. Here are some example commissions:

How are sales tracked?
Whenever someone follows the link on your site to visit our site, Mal's e-commerce will track that visitor and place a thirty-day cookie on their system. This means that once your visitor clicks through your affiliate link, you will earn commission on their sales for thirty days - even if they return directly to the Westerner Speed Timers website.
On the View statistics page of your Administration Area you can see the number of Clicks. On that page you will also see the current period sales and commissions that are owed to you, plus the prior commissions payments. Please note that sales and commissions are not immediatly viewable by you. They are first confirmed by us to make sure the payment goes through and the order had been forwarded to our distributor for shipment. At that point we will validate the commission so it shows up in your control panel. This confirmation period will normally take from two to four days.
When are commission payments made?
Commission payments are generally made once your commission balance reaches $50. You can either have the payments sent to you via PayPal transaction or a mailed check. We will contact you to find out your preference. You can choose to have your threshold set higher if you wish, and if you choose to take payments via PayPal we can reduce the threshold to $25 if you prefer.
Your commission payment will be made one month after the threshold is met to make sure the product is received and accepted by the customer. If a return is made after that point we will reduce future commission payments by the amount of commission on that return.
How to promote Western Speed Timers and increase your commission
Once you join our affiliate program you have a number of ways to maximize your commission potential:
- Visit your Administration Area and go to the "Get Links" page to find text or banner links you can use on your website. These links are encoded with your affiliate ID that will track the visitors that come from your site. You can modify the text of the links to fit your site, and even create your own banner ads to fit your site's design.
- Feel free to copy and paste details and pictures of timer systems from our site for use on your website to advertise the timer systems that your visitors would be interested in. You may want to minimize the use of pricing on your site in case our prices change, but if you do wish to include prices you can e-mail us with the list of products you are listing on your site, and we will attempt to let you know when the prices change.
Other Affiliate Program Information
- Westerner Speed Timers reserves the right to refuse any affiliate partner, which includes any sites promoting violence, discrimination or illegal activities.
- Affiliates are responsible for updating their profile to keep mailing addresses current to facilitate payment delivery.
- It is the policy of Westerner Speed Timers that marketing of any of its products by way of "SPAM" e-mail is prohibited. Any affiliates who participate in the use of "SPAM" e-mailing to market our products will be disqualified from our affiliate program without notice and have their commissions withheld. If you have any doubts about your marketing plans, please check with us first.
- Our affiliates are independent contractors, and nothing in our affiliate program will create any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, sales representative, or employment relationship between the parties. Affiliates will have no authority to make or accept any offers or representations on our behalf.
